Yes, and B2B buyers are often a stronger fit for Copilot optimization than consumer-facing brands. Many of the people evaluating vendors in enterprise environments are already working inside Microsoft 365, which means Copilot is accessible exactly where they’re researching vendors and comparing options. The buyers you’re trying to reach are already asking it questions. Getting your brand into those answers is the outcome Copilot optimization is built around.

Traditional SEO earns you a place on a results page, but your buyer still has to choose you from a list of links. Copilot generates the answer directly and may name only a small number of brands in its response. That means ranking in Bing’s index is necessary but not sufficient. The goal is making sure your brand is visible and well-understood enough that Copilot includes you when buyers ask questions in your category.

Microsoft’s Bing Webmaster Tools includes an AI Performance report that tracks how often your content is retrieved to inform Copilot responses. You can also test it directly: open Copilot and ask the questions your buyers are likely asking before choosing a vendor in your category. See which brands it names, which it describes, and which it leaves out entirely.

Not exactly. Traditional search returns a ranked list of pages for your buyer to evaluate. Copilot uses content from Bing’s index to build a response, selecting sources to inform its answer rather than surfacing links for your buyer to weigh. Pages that are well-indexed, clearly structured, and supported by credible third-party references tend to be the ones that shape those responses.

It depends on where your brand stands today. If your content isn’t well-indexed in Bing or your brand isn’t well-represented across the web, building that foundation takes time. Brands that already have strong search visibility typically see movement in Copilot answers faster.
