Google’s PageSpeed Insights and Lighthouse help you address technical issues so you can improve user experience and make your website easier for Google to crawl.

We’ll start with PageSpeed Insights. This tool is generally geared toward non-developers offering an easy-to-read interface and clear performance scores with optimization suggestions.

Head to page speed dot web dot dev.

Enjoy a URL and click “Analyze.”

You’ll see a core web vitals assessment for both mobile and desktop.

Scroll down to see a diagnosis of specific performance issues.

Paigepeed insights also suggest opportunities to improve page experience, including accessibility adjustments.

For instance, it recommends we add additional contrast to our page to make it more accessible.
Finally, pagespeed insights provides a measurement of how well your page adheres to technical SEO best practices.

Now let’s look at Lighthouse.

This is a valuable tool for developers since its analysis provide more in-depth detail and flexibility than Page Speed Insights.

Once the Lighthouse Chrome extension has been added to your browser, you can generate a report on any URL.
